Qualifications: Chartered Physiotherapist (CSP, HCPC registered), BSc Kinesiology, Polestar Pilates comprehensive rehabilitation. Pre and post pregnancy certified. Pink ribbon post-operative rehabilitation
Hi, my name is Begum and I graduated from the Doctor of Physiotherapy programme at The University of Melbourne after moving to Australia from Toronto, Canada. I did this as in combination with a Bachelor degree in Kinesiology as I am a strong believer of combining exercise therapy and manual techniques to help clients to be pain free and achieve their goals. After graduating, I gained worked alongside doctors, other physios, strength and conditioning experts and clinical Pilates instructors when working in aged care facilities, private practice and sporting teams.
I love being active and so have a natural passion for sports physiotherapy. Having worked with athletes at local and state level in Australian Rules Football (AFL) and soccer, I have a keen interest in acute sports injuries and sports rehabilitation. In my time spent abroad, I also gained experience at Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Centre which has a focus on orthopaedic rehabilitation, both pre and post-surgery.
In addition to my physiotherapy training, I completed the Comprehensive Polestar Rehabilitation course in Australia, after discovering the benefits of Pilates whilst treating my own injuries. I am very passionate about helping people overcome injuries and pain to achieve their goals, no matter the level, and am interested in using Pilates to improve posture and functional movement to provide people with a better quality of life.
I absolutely love to travel so in my free time, you will see me exploring all that London has to offer, practicing my photography skills, and keeping active, whether it’s playing tennis, rowing, going for a bike ride or hiking.
