Denise Kwan

Qualifications: APPI mat, reformer and equipment Pilates certified, pre & post-natal certified

My name is Denise. I was first introduced to Pilates at 12 years old when doing my ballet intensive training in Boston Ballet school.

After my career as a professional ballet dancer, I took the natural decision for me to be a movement facilitator and branched off to study Fitness, Yoga, Pilates and Barre instructing in Melbourne.

Throughout my early dance and gymnastics training, I have always incorporated Pilates as well as gyrotonics to help overcome numerous injuries as well as to meet the strength and endurance demands required for dancing on a daily routine. I found Pilates a sustainable and effective form of exercise that will remain for the rest of my life. I can feel my level of body awareness is always growing together with physical strength, endurance and my mental health and wellbeing.

My teaching journey started with teaching body conditioning classes to dance studios around Melbourne. I then became more engaged in teaching reformer Pilates classes, in Pilates studios, clinical studios and fitness gyms.

The atmosphere and goals in each environment can be very different so I am used to being versatile with my approach. My diversified teaching experience would allow me to adapt and accommodate to client’s need. I like to put client’s goals and condition as my first priority. I build the stairway for them to achieve their long term goals and beyond.
I am excited to join the team at Complete Pilates so I can help everyone reach their goal of enhancing their health holistically.

Outside of Pilates, you will find me dancing to keep up my fitness, shopping and discovering nature. Whatever I am doing I love to be active!
