Qualifications: Polestar Pilates comprehensive rehabilitation certified, masters in Osteopathic Medicine student

Hi, I am Alexandra and I am a Clinical Pilates Instructor and training Osteopath at our City Studio.

I first found Pilates as a teenager when I was part of the Girls’ Rugby team at my school. It was then that I noticed a need for deeper core strength and better body awareness. After 4 years playing full contact I never encountered any major injuries and was one of the fastest on the pitch. I credit my energy, recovery and injury prevention down to Pilates, when the only place to practice was by watching home workout DVD’s.

My first career was running events around the world. After 8 years on the move, I settled back and trained in Mat Pilates in 2016 and then a year later onto the Comprehensive Equipment Course with Polestar Pilates. I’m not stopping there, currently undertaking my Masters in Osteopathic Medicine; enhancing my knowledge in order to help people live a healthier, happier, more informed life.

With my studies I have found that Pilates for me is also a mental escape, a time to focus solely on the movement and find that inner confidence.

When I’m not teaching you’ll find me with my walking boots on and trekking somewhere with my beloved dog or with my head in a book.
