Hi, my name is Carmela and I am an Osteopath and Clinical Pilates Instructor. My work combines movement education and hands-on therapy to support strength, mobility, and overall wellbeing.
With a background in professional dance, Pilates education, and osteopathic training, I bring a unique perspective that blends artistic movement awareness with clinical rehabilitation. I began studying ballet at a young age in Italy, later expanding into modern, jazz, and contemporary dance, performing with companies across Southern Italy and becoming involved in choreography. Driven by a deep love of movement and artistic expression, I moved to the UK to train at the Royal Academy of Dance, where I qualified as a classical ballet teacher.
I later completed comprehensive Pilates teacher training alongside a diploma in Anatomy & Physiology, deepening my interest in how movement supports health, recovery, and long-term wellbeing. I have continued to expand my knowledge through advanced training in Pilates rehabilitation, movement science, fascia, spinal and pelvic health, osteoporosis, scoliosis, and breast cancer recovery, while also exploring complementary methods such as Gyrotonic, Gyrokinesis, and the Franklin Method.
Today, I work across osteopathy and clinical Pilates, integrating manual therapy with movement-based rehabilitation to support strength, posture, and functional movement. My aim is to provide care that feels grounded, empowering, and supportive.
Outside of work, I enjoy contemporary dance, yoga, meditation, visiting art exhibitions, travelling, and creative activities such as drawing, painting, and pottery.
