Rocio Herrero Garcia
Qualifications: CSP associate practitioner, Stott Pilates instructor, Women’s Wellness Specialist, The vertical workshop (Shari Berkowitz), Pinc and Steel cancer rehabilitation certified, NEXT steps cancer survivorship certified, Pink Ribbon Post-Operative certified.
Hi, my name is Rocio and I discovered Pilates after suffering with knee pain from a running injury. This injury forced me to take a long rest period from running and my doctor recommended that I take up Pilates as part of my rehabilitation. As a result, from a background in Art History, I embarked on the path to become a Pilates instructor.
I have found this to be a long, but incredibly rewarding journey with a lot of studying and practice. I obtained my initial certificate with Stott Pilates in 2015, and then became hooked on body alignment and movement so furthered my training with Shari Berkowitz, a Biomechanist, Ergonomist and expert Pilates Teacher of Teachers.
With my career and knowledge progressing, I have been able to challenge myself and extend my knowledge in cancer rehabilitation and women’s health, both of which are areas of special interest to me. I love helping empower women and those who have been diagnosed with cancer to have a better quality of life, manage their symptoms and reach their goals.
In my free time, you will find me anywhere around the world travelling or hiking. In London, I always make the most of the parks and outdoor spaces to maintain my contact with nature whilst dreaming of more hills and wilderness!
In my own words; “I always recommend Pilates to everybody. It is suitable for people of all ages and all levels of fitness, it’s never too late to start and there is so much to get back.”
