Equipment Overview

Reformers

In all our clinics we use Balanced Body Allegro 2 Reformers. We believe these Pilates reformers are one of the most versatile and innovative pieces of Pilates equipment available on the market today.

Designed for both professional studio use and clinical Pilates, it offers smooth and adjustable resistance through a system of springs, straps, and a moving carriage. The options for spring choice allows for us to modify any exercise, making it ideal for those returning from injury, surgery, or periods of reduced activity.

With its easy-to-adjust features and ergonomic design, the Allegro 2 supports everyone. From beginners learning the fundamentals of movements, to advanced clients seeking precision and challenge. Its sleek construction ensures fluid movement, precision, and a comfortable, safe experience throughout the Pilates class.

Towers / Cadillacs

All of our clinics have Balanced Body Trapeze Tables and Allegro 2 towers. The Balanced Body Trapeze Table, also known as the Pilates Cadillac, is a cornerstone of Pilates equipment. It offers unmatched versatility for movement, strength, and most importantly for us, rehabilitation. With its system of springs, bars, and straps, it allows for a wide range of exercises that help improve strength, flexibility and coordination – all in a safe and supportive environment.

The Trapeze Table is higher off the ground which makes it an easier piece of equipment to get on and off if you have reduced mobility.

Ideal for all abilities, the Trapeze Table can be adapted to challenge advanced or support those recovering from an acute injury and surgery, making it perfect for both performance and rehabilitation-focused sessions. Its sturdy, professional-grade design ensures smooth, controlled movement, giving you confidence and support with every exercise.

Whether you’re looking to rehabilitate, strengthen, or simply move more, the Balanced Body Trapeze Table provides a stable space to explore your body’s full potential.

Mats

Mat Pilates is widely recognised as one of the most accessible forms of Pilates, suitable for all levels. At our studios, we use extra-thick 15mm mats, providing a cushioned, supportive surface whether you’re lying down, on all fours, or transitioning between exercises.

Every studio is fully equipped with these mats, allowing us to teach exercises you can safely and confidently continue at home, helping you maintain progress and build strength between classes.

Pilates chair

The Pilates Chair is a compact but incredibly versatile piece of equipment that can challenge your strength, coordination, and balance, or provide extra support for gentler, rehab-focused work. Its adjustable resistance allows exercises to be tailored to your ability, making it ideal for beginners, those recovering from injury, or advanced practitioners looking for a challenge.

Using the Chair, we can target core stability, posture, and functional strength in a way that’s both safe and highly effective. It also allows for a range of seated, standing, and step-on exercises, giving you the ability to work against gravity, improve your posture, and build strength and balance throughout the body.

Ladder barrel and spine corrector

The Ladder Barrel and spine corrector are a traditional piece of Pilates apparatus designed to improve flexibility, strengthen the core, and support back-extension work. The ladder barrel has a curved padded barrel attached to a stable wooden base and a set of ladder-like rungs positioned a short distance from the barrel. The distance between the barrel and ladder can be adjusted to match body size or work for a specific exercise

The Spine Corrector is a smaller, more portable piece of apparatus which works similarly to the ladder barrel but can be used on top of the reformer as well as on the mat. It has a smaller arched barrel with a gentle curve and a short step attached to one side. It is incredibly lightweight and easy to move around the studio which makes it ideal for adding challenge or variation to exercises that you know.

Because both pieces of apparatus have a curved surface, this supports you into your movement and allows you trunk and spine maximum support throughout. This makes it a brilliant piece of equipment for those that need to work on their back and trunk strength.

Props: rings, resistance bands, balls, weights

All our studios are equipped with a variety of Pilates props, including soft Pilates balls, gym balls, Franklin balls, resistance bands (both long and looped), hand weights, firmer balls — including spiked options for fascial release — foam rollers (full and half shapes), and magic circles (Pilates rings).

These props are designed to add support, challenge, or resistance to your exercises, helping you get the most from every movement. We offer such a wide selection because each prop works in a slightly different way, allowing us to tailor your session precisely to your needs and goals.

Specialised rehabilitation or advanced equipment

We also offer a range of specialist Pilates equipment to make your practice safer, more comfortable, and more effective. For example, the Pilates wedge is perfect for those who are pregnant or prefer not to lie on their back. We use soft, adjustable head cushions for neck support, ensuring comfort while tailoring the height to suit each individual.

On the Trapeze Table, we have stability slings and Y-loops for your feet, providing extra support and enabling those with more limited ability to move more freely and confidently. For core work and balance, we use the Oov, which challenges your stability and highlights areas of weakness or imbalance.

Other props include sitting boxes, which allow us to regress exercises or work against gravity to improve posture, and jumpboards, designed to enhance cardio endurance and strength. Each piece of equipment is carefully chosen to support your body, expand your capabilities, and make your Pilates practice both safe and effective.

Studio Layout and Atmosphere

All of our Complete Pilates studios are light, bright and airy with high ceilings to allow space above the Trapeze Table. They have both heating and air conditioning which ensures a comfortable setting all year round.

The studio’s are shared with other instructors and clients which often ensure multiple people are celebrating your wins! Although it is a semi private studio, your instructors ensure an air of privacy within your session and can use a clinic room as available to discuss anything private that you would prefer not to address in the studio.

We aim to provide a warm and positive environment which helps you to feel at ease as you move.

Studio Amenities

All our London studio’s are based within Complete Physio clinics. We have filtered water stations which you can fill your bottle up with or cups on request. Our City and Angel clinics have changing areas but we encourage people to come ready to move so as to save time in case a few people want to use them.

All studio’s have space to hang your coats and put your shoes just outside the studio. You can bring valuables into the studio and your instructor will direct you as to where to put these.

You do not need specific grip socks as we can provide non-slip matting but we do request that you wear socks in the studio for hygiene reasons.

Accessibility

Our City and Angel clinics are fully accessible with lifts, wide doorways and accessible bathrooms. Chelsea does have a lift to the first floor, however we are half a floor up so walking a short flight of stairs is necessary to come to this clinic.

Booking and Check-In Process

Every appointment with us must be booked in advance. This can be done directly through our administration team or via our Complete Pilates App which you can find wherever you download your apps.

If you are using the app, download it and create a profile with us. Choose the location that you would like and the appointment that suits you. If you are new to us then please choose our New Client Assessment offer as this is two 1:1 sessions for a significantly discounted price. This allows us to get to know you and set goals, as well as assess your movement so we best know how to help. The App will prompt you to pay for the sessions upfront and once you have done this will book the appointment for you.

Please arrive 5 minutes before your session to give you time to take off your shoes and prepare for your class. At the time of your appointment, your instructor will come to the waiting room to find you. We ask that you do not go into the studio before this point as it gives previous clients a chance to leaves and our instructors to appropriately clean the space and prepare for your session.

You can bring your valuables into the studio with you. There are coat and shoe racks outside the studio and our reception team can direct you as to where these are.

If you have not paid in advance for your session your instructor will ask you at the end for payment. We accept all major credit and debit cards or cash. We do not accept cheques. If you would prefer to BACS a payment to us please contact our admin team in advance who can send you the payment details.

Emergency & First-Aid Provision

We have first aid kits at all our main sites. Our Chelsea studio is also located a short walk from Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Our instructors all undertake training in basic life support skills.

Studio Policies

For all our clinics we have a 24 hour notice cancellation policy on all appointments and classes or you will be subject to the full cost of the class. We send out reminder emails 48 hours in advance so please make sure that you sign up for these. We do not send out needless spam or marketing emails.

It is recommended that you wear comfortable clothing that you are happy to move in. Clothing which is slightly more fitted works well on the equipment so that we can see you move better but also so that you do not risk it getting caught. For this reason we also request that any long hair is tied up. Socks are necessary in the studios for hygiene reasons. If possible, please remove any dangly or large jewellery as this can be uncomfortable to exercise in but can also damage the equipment. All mobile phones should be on silent and left in the provided cubbies within the studio. If you are expecting an urgent call please just let your instructor know who will be able to help you. We request all personal items are stored in the cubbies rather than on the floor to prevent trip hazards to other clients and instructors.

Photography is allowed in the studio but no other client or instructor should be in it without explicit consent. If you would like to film your session please let our instructors know at the start of your session.

We recommend that everyone arrive 5 minutes before their class to get themselves ready and settled. This will ensure you get the most from your session. If you are coming to a group class and are more than 10 minutes late, you may have to wait for the instructor to be ready to start moving.

We pride ourselves on being open, honest and adaptable for all clients. The rules we have in place are designed to improve the quality of the space as well as the atmosphere for all clients in the studio.
