Hi, my name is Laurent. Growing up in Marseille, I developed a taste for movement from a young age and at the age of 12, began training as a Ballet dancer. At the same time, I discovered a passion for Pilates as we were regularly exposed to this through our training. This love grew alongside my career as a professional ballet dancer.
I performed in France at the Paris Opera, Bordeaux Opera and the Ballet National de Marseille before moving to London in 2003 where I joined the English National Ballet. As well as helping me through my career, to develop and strengthen my body, Pilates has become my daily meditation.
As my career as a dancer was coming to an end, I decided to follow this passion and completed my full equipment and rehabilitation training with Polestar Pilates. I have also been able to further my knowledge of injuries by working closely with physiotherapists, soft tissue therapists, doctors and consultants on a range of injuries. As a result, I am now able to bring all of my experience in Ballet, knowledge of Pilates and the human body, to the studio to help empower people in their movement. When not teaching Pilates, I am an accomplished photographer and continues to work at the English National Ballet as photographer and videographer. You can also find me filming Complete’s on demand videos and riding my bike anywhere I can!
