MaySze Chang

Qualifications: Bachelor of Nursing, Master of Nursing in Critical Care, Bachelor of Nursing Science in Midwifery, Polestar Pilates Comprehensive rehabilitation, BASI Pre and Post natal Pilates, PBT (Progressive Ballet Technique) Certified teacher, Franklin Method teacher training.

Hi, my name is MaySze (pronounced as Maisy). I’m an amalgam of nursing and Pilates. I’m a neonatal intensive care nurse with a vast background from working in adult intensive care to midwifery and medical research over many years.

My passion is dance and movement, which led me to Pilates many years ago due to an injury from marathon and dance training at that time. With the help of the Pilates, I recovered from my injury and subsequently completed 7 marathons.

I am always amazed by the wonderful body that we have; its engineering design for movement efficiency and its resilience when we are under stress physically and mentally.
With my nursing background, my teaching approach always brings my nursing and caring side into Pilates sessions – a holistic approach, attention to details and a strong focus on correct technique and alignment.
I have very broad interests, which range from rehabilitation to performance enhancement, from body movement efficiency and the relationship between mind and movement. As I believe that everyone has an amazing body with a lot of potential to discover, Pilates is a perfect platform to listen and explore it. I get constant joy and excitement when my clients find how much enjoyment movement can bring and how this subsequently spills over into everyday life too.

If you can’t find me in the clinic, you will find me in various dance studio’s taking ballet classes or rock climbing centres for a climbing session.
