Sabrina Krebs

Qualifications: Certified Polestar Pilates Practitioner. Bachelor of Science in Pre-Med Biology with a Minor in Dance from Barnard College, Columbia University in New York.

I am Sabrina Krebs, and I am proudly trained as a Polestar Pilates practitioner.

My journey into the world of movement began at the tender age of three in my mother’s ballet studio in Guatemala, a journey that only deepened through my transformative years at a competitive contemporary dance conservatory. Academically, I ventured further, earning a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Med Biology with a Minor in Dance from Barnard College, Columbia University in New York.

In my professional path, I have had the enriching opportunity to serve as a physical therapy aide at the esteemed Hospital for Special Surgery and at Professional PT within Equinox Gyms in New York City. While in these roles, I absorbed a wealth of knowledge, keenly observing the intricacies of healing and rehabilitation. These experiences have significantly shaped my understanding and approach to body mechanics, providing a unique lens through which I view Pilates and movement education.

My clinical interests are deeply rooted in understanding how movement informs the state of the mind and, conversely, how the state of the mind informs movement. I am dedicated to helping individuals with hypermobility learn to move safely, focusing on strengthening and stabilizing their joints. Additionally, I am passionate about assisting people in activating muscles they often felt they could not engage properly and/or teaching them to release over-recruited muscles. This comprehensive approach underscores my belief in the profound connection between mind, body, and spirit, advocating that our approach to movement and Pilates reflects our approach to life itself.

When I am not teaching Pilates or delving into the complexities of the human body, I teach dance to children and write and direct films. These creative endeavors allow me to explore various facets of creativity and connection, enriching my practice and philosophy in Pilates and beyond.

I am committed to guiding my clients toward their health and fitness goals. My approach, enriched by an extensive background in dance and insights gained from medical science and physical therapy observations, promotes wellness and personal growth. Through Pilates, I strive to create a harmonious balance between physical and mental well-being, believing in the transformative power of movement in our lives.
